(see programme for details)
Meetings are held fortnightly on Tuesday evenings at 7:45 pm at the Scout HQ in Rue Maingy from September until May, with social events in the summer.
On the less busy evenings, members are welcome to bring their images along for comment. Friendly appraisals are given which is very valuable for members who listen to the advice regarding their technique and composition etc. Any standard of work can be brought along, indeed some of the most experienced members do so, to "test the waters" prior to entering their work into national and international competitions
Members are also encouraged to raise equipment and other technical queries to help them progress their photographic skills.
Points gained throughout the season count towards the club's "Photographer of the Year" award.
Digital imaging has been embraced by the club as an exciting new way forward, and Spectrum has purchased an excellent digital projector which allows digital images to compete with slides in club competitions. Whilst some members prefer the more traditional approach, others have grasped the new opportunities with open arms and are coming to grips with the new technology. We aim to cater for all members' media preferences.
Meetings are a very good night out for everyone, especially when talks and lectures are given. Social membership is available to members who do not wish to compete but enjoy seeing other people’s images.
Club members have shared many fascinating evenings viewing wonderful images on all manner of subjects from around the world, brought to them by renowned photographers both from the island and abroad.
