"Well, non of the forecasters got last night’s weather correct! There was a very good turnout at Quayside but as it was pretty miserable and drizzling frequently, we made a decision to reformat the competition – which, as it happens, will give those unable to come last night the chance to enter. A few hardy souls did persevere and it will be interesting to see what they got by way of images. It was certainly “low light”!

The format has been changed as follows: You have between now and the 13th September to take “low light” pictures, at your convenience, of anything in the following area: St Sampson’s harbour and all around the edge of the harbour, so the Bridge etc., the power station area, the cranes & surrounding area. It is a loosely defined area but you get the general idea. On the 13th September you need to bring 2 DPI’s for Brian as the actual competition is 2 weeks later. Remember that they must be taken in “low light” conditions but any subject you choose.

I have had some, but not many, images for the exhibition in October. All I need now is some small jpeg’s so we can choose the images we will print for the exhibition. So please send me your best pictures ASAP.

The final details are being arranged for Ann Miles visit and at by the end of next week we will be sending members a n invoice for the courses you have indicated you want to attend. There are a few places left on most of the programme if you haven’t let me know which things you would like to attend. If you have lost/deleted the email I sent with the details, let me know and I will resend it to you.

Also, a gentle reminder to bring/send to Brian, your images of “Shadows in the Bailiwick” at the next meeting, back at the Scout centre, on the 30th August.

Attached is an email we have received and if any of you are consideriny applying for a PAGB Award for Photographic Merit, it will be of interest to you

Best wishes

Carl
